I recorded more music this month! There is always a great sense of excitement when I go into a recording studio. I’m always a touch nervous and full of lots of energy, wanting to get started and sing my heart out. This time it was at a new studio I have recorded in but I have never made an album there. The studio was in Gilbert and it was great. It’s so fun to create and be creative. I love it! Who doesn’t like to create something? I think recording music is one of my favorite moments in the music business.

During a past session I recorded a lot of music that I have performed in shows. It seemed to go very fast and easy because I get to sing them so often and I know them so well. Most of the time (on an album) I have recorded songs that are somewhat unfamiliar and new. At this past session they were memorized and had been sung so often it went by in a blink of an eye. I couldn’t wait to go back.

I’ve been thinking for a long time about putting together a Christmas album. I could hardly wait to get started on the project and I wanted to start on it last December, but I began working on it in March. A whole entire year before that I took pictures for the album cover. This little baby has been growing for a long time and it’s almost ready to be delieverd. This album is something I am so excited about sharing with you. It is getting really close to being completed now. The music I chose to include is so close to my heart. This album is a very personal album (I know all of them are) it actually makes me a tinge scared to share so much of my heart on this one, but I’m going to be brave and give it to you anyway. I really hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I have enjoyed creating it. I have one more day of singing on Friday and it goes to mixing. It is due to be relased in August. Are you excited? I know Christmas isn’t coming fast enough is it? I remember when I was a kid and how much I dreamed about Christmas coming, and not just because of all the presents either, but because of the family time and the beautiful carols and music seemed to be everywhere. Excitement is in the air at Christmas time. Actually excitement is in the air here in July too! I could sing Christmas music all year long. I can’t wait for it this season because I’ll be singing the music I wrote.

What is your favorite Christmas song? I put together my own list but I thought I’d ask you for your opinion because it’s not the season right now and I’m sure you have some great ideas to share with me. Tell me, what songs are your favorites, what songs can you listen to over and over again? What songs do you enjoy, or which ones bring back memories? What songs are annoying? I asked the question on facebook and here is a list of favorite Christmas songs I received.  The winner was “O Holy Night” and it is included on my album. If I had to choose just one song for Christmas it would be so hard to do. I cannot think of Christmas without music, and I cannot think about music without Christmas.

Thank you so much for responding to my question. It was a lot of fun for me to read your answers. It was interesting to me to see the answers because a lot of the same titles were already picked for my album and that made me happy. Here is the list I compiled from you in the order I received them. I put my vote in there too, I bet you can’t guess my answer.
